Xstreets Free Art Frenzy

"What goes around, Comes around."

While everyone was tucked up in bed or enjoying the last few hours of the evening, three Xstreets members were frenzily cycling around dropping Free Art all over the city of Amsterdam. They began in the red light district, taking a frantic tour in and around the alley ways and streets. They barely had time to leave the second drop when some lucky passer by grabbed the opportunity to take it. Five more lucky people had their picture taken with their new found art. For some it was a little more difficult to understand the concept that they could actually take the art with no strings attached:)
They generated a lot of interest and in particular the Cops seemed to want to know what was going on.
Cop: "We have been informed that you are acting suspicously."
Ives.One: "What is suspicious?"
Cop: "Well, why do you have a camera on the bike. I dont do that. Its not normal."
Ives.One: "We're not normal."
And so it continued for a little while, Skatin Chinchilla pretty oblivious and content with fixing the camera on the front of the bakfiets, Karma83 bricking it slightly and Ives.one craftily making the very large police officer sound incredibly ignorant without him even knowing. After checking details and, to their disappointed, finding no warrants out for their arrests they were free to continue the free art frenzy. If you were out that night or on your way to work in the morning and you found our art, check out the footage and you'll understand how it got there and why it was a great Xstreets Free Art Frenzy!

Basel Trip September 2009

In September 2009 the Amsterdam side of the Xstreets Collective headed to Basel for a special birthday bash and holiday. We had fantastic weather, great company and some awesome walls painted. A big shout out to Bustart and Zaira for putting up with us for the whole week and for showing us great hospitality. It was a great week!

Commissioned Wall Mulligans Amsterdam

This is an EBA commissioned wall that we painted together for an Irish Bar Mulligans in Amsterdam. It took a couple of weeks and rain stopped play a few times but we made it in the end.

3 Skateboards

I got a phone call while these were being exhibited in the Jet Lounge in Amsterdam as part of our EBA exhibition and was told that they had been stolen. While on one hand its nice that someone thought them worth taking, I hadnt quite finished the one on the far left so it bugs me that id like to find them and just finish that last one:)

Its all about the money

Two poems about money written by myself with coins from countries all over the world stuck to the canvas.

Sugar Karma

Inspired by the Mexican holiday The Day of the Dead and the Old Skool Skull tattoo style, I mixed them together to create "Sugar Karma".

A world of Karma83

A little glimpse into the world of Karma83. This canvas we found lying on the street one night. It had the typical Ikea print flowerwork on, and so needed to have a little bit of spice added to it.

Xstreets Table Collaboration

A nice evening chillin and drawing together, each of us had a corner and we just went for it. It is nice to just hang out with friends and get creative with each other.

New Attraction Festival

Together with MLSS, Fren, and Bjou we represented the ladies in Grongingen painting live at the Hip Hop stage. Boy the summer days are good.
Here is the flyer and the final year.

Live Painting Xstreets Nieuwe Anita

The Xstreets were asked to paint a funky wall at the Nieuwe Anita in Amsterdam. Armed with plenty of paint and some funky images, we spent the whole night painting.
